'Pram Talks' is a one on one audio performance experience aimed at parents and parents to be. We interviewed 60+ parents from across the North West about their experiences of parenthood. Taking place in Princes Park and Stanley Park the performance invited audience members to meet as strangers and go for a 40-minute walk in pairs with their baby or their bump. They were invited to eavesdrop on parents conversations as they discuss such things as: romance after a baby, breastfeeding in public, traumatic births, what the first six weeks are really like, what you are really thinking during the 3am feed, post natal depression and what you wish you were told.
The performance also allows space for audience members to reflect on their own story, as well as being encouraged to start a conversation with the person they are sharing the performance with by asking the questions they may not have thought of asking. The aim of the performance is to bond and connect parents by creating a space where authentic and meaningful dialogues can unfold.
